The planes listed below are called by many names. Some common terms for them are the “planes,” the “real world,” or the “material world.”
In order to understand the lore of this vast universe, it is fundamentally important to understand the nature of such a universe. Its structures equally apply to the infinite versions of this world. It all starts with an understanding of Paris. Paris is the greatest plane of existence in any iteration of the universe. It stands above all other planes, robed in prestige and beauty. While the true nature of Paris cannot be understood we do know that it is the heart from which all life flows. It is a shimmering beauty, completely devoid of both sadness and the color orange. Its great luster is a beacon of hope to all of us. It is the final goal of all common people to reach Paris one day, despite the insurmountable odds.
From Paris, a great rushing of water flows down to the pool of love. The pool of love is parallel to Paris and is of similar stature. Its great basin of water shimmers in the darkness. The pool of love is a serene space where many travelers find rest. There have been reports that falling into the pool insights great euphoria in these travelers. While some attempt to swim to the gates of Paris, many stay there for a very long time. The pool of love seems to be some sort of greater mechanism that spreads love throughout the universe. Its workings are fundamentally incomprehensible to a mortal's simple mind. We believe that even a touch of these gentle waters brings you to true love, the basis for all relationships.
The cliff is one of the greatest mysteries of the universe. While it allows passage to the pool of love, we know very little about it. It is commonly believed that the cliff is treacherous land. It is the barrier between joy and depression. Many who attempt to scale its walls do not live to tell the tale. The few who have survived have reported howling winds and a crushing feeling of isolation. The cliff is a large barrier to the planes above. It is a sort of natural defense for those holy areas.
The ditch is the most populated area of the universal plane. This area is known for instilling a deep sadness in all of its inhabitants. While the ditch is not truly an inherent realm of depression, it still has negative impacts on the wellbeing of all who dwell there. The ditch also reflects feelings of monotony and sloth. Those confined within the ditch are often unable to escape, and find themselves progressing further downward to less desirable planes. One can be liberated from the ditch, but only by tremendous effort or some otherworldly miracle. Many stay there for large amounts of their lives, never progressing in any direction.
The final hope for any human is the grave. In the center of the ditch there is a dark tunnel that leads to a small confined grave. Those in the grave are unable to see, or interact with those around them. Many, many people reside in this small cave, but they are alone in their minds. The grave is hopeless and lifeless. Those who live there are trapped in an eternal spiral of depression. Some attempt to escape, some take their own lives in desperation, and some sit there, wasting away.
The Butter Barrel is the end. In the corner of the grave there is a large barrel. Those who crawl inside become trapped in this dark, enclosed space. The only way to escape the butter barrel is to crawl your way through the darkness to Jacksonville. Once you enter Jacksonville through this route, you cannot return.
Jacksonville is the polar opposite of Paris in every way. Not only is Jacksonville not fancy, it is filled to the brim with the color orange. Everything in Jacksonville is drab and orange, a horrible sight to see. Jacksonville is a terrible place. It gives terror and despair to all who reside within its walls. People in Jacksonville endure constant physical and mental torment. They cannot rest peacefully. Jacksonville is the deepest darkness in the universe. It is the worst possible location ever to be conceived. It constantly attempts to corrupt the world above by recklessly spreading its anti-paris vibes. Jacksonville is the central source of all evil. It is the heart of death and destruction. Its many attempts to cover the universe in eternal orange have been futile as of now. This conscious entity of despair is hated by all people.
In between the eternal gap bridging Jacksonville and Paris there lies the independent state of California. California is a confounding maze that provides the only possible passage between the highest and lowest planes that can be used in both directions. This route is rarely completed due to California’s large recreation focus. Those who reside in Paris are warned to never leave for California. The return journey to Paris is nearly impossible, and those who once strayed from the shimmering lands have found themselves slowly inching closer to Jacksonville. California retains elements of both Paris and Jacksonville. It is simultaneously fancy and orange. This allows it to be the connection between these two eternal cities.
Both Tadland and the Kellerverse have become removed from the universe, becoming locations that reside within the greater multiverse. While the Kellerverse is often used as a connection point between separate universes, Tadland remains its own separate entity. Tadland does not condone the interference with universal affairs. Oh also Danny exists outside of the planes, as well as the repiuk ring, but those have their own sections.
Many people have wondered how the universe is connected to their current visible world. All people (except Kellers, Aliens and Tadians) reside in the universe. Each one of us is currently in one of the planes described. Our visual world is simply an experience distributed by the Week Company. This is why many of us have no memory of the planes themselves. As described in the section dedicated to the Week System, only executives and registered dimension hoppers are allowed to retain memories between Weeks. While inside our visual world we can determine our current position in the universe depending on our current mood and emotion. Feelings associated with each plane are still felt within a Week. When your mood changes you are progressing up or down between planes in the material universe. This has led to the creation of common phrases such as, “I’m in the ditch right now (Meaning I feel sad or bored),” or ,”I just fell in the pool of love (Conveying happiness/romance)!”
The Great Pear in the sky is the reigning deity over the entirety of the multiverse. Their motives and workings are a great mystery to all. We know that they created the multiverse in its entirety. They set both Paris and Jacksonville in their places of perfect balance. Some cultures have worshiped in their name, and others have denied his existence. They can be seen from great distances away, and appear as a great ball of fire in the sky. Many Weeks represent them in this way. They have not unveiled their true appearance, however, we are certain that they are pear shaped (since all things that can fly are in the shape of a pear.) They have been depicted by artists as a large pear with six arms and two legs. Their limbs are said to point outward in all directions. The Great Pear in the sky has only once (in recorded history) interfered with the affairs of his creation. Outside of this single time they have remained distant. They simply set everything in motion, and left it to grow.
In the beginning, the Great Pear would sit in their isolated haven deep in the void. While they sat they developed thoughts that became the foundation of the universe. The seed of their mind was a beautiful shimmering light, with this light they shaped Paris into being and set it in place around the void. After many years, the Great Pear became bored again. They decided to create a reverse of Paris to establish conflict. From their thoughts they birthed an orange darkness. With this they created jacksonville, and set it in its place. Then they reached deep into his mind, and shaped the first humans. He split them in equal measure and placed them evenly in the two cities. Along with these humans, they created the Kellers and the Tadians to accompany and guide the humans. To these groups they gave a greater understanding of the universe. Then they created California and the planes to hold the universe together. From deep thought, and overwhelming wonder they duplicated the universe until the number of universes was immeasurable.
Thus the multiverse was born.
